June 6 D-Day commemorates the 76th anniversary of the Allied Invasion of Normandy, France, in 1944 by the largest armada ever assembled and resulted in the fall of the German’s Atlantic Wall and a successful invasion of France.

June 12 Women Veterans Day is a Texas state commemoration to recognize and honor wom-en veterans throughout the state. Texas has the largest number of women veterans of any state.

June 14 U.S. Army Birthday

June 14 (Sunday) U.S. Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States.

The American Legion’s 102nd National Convention, originally scheduled for Louisville, Ky., Aug. 28 – Sept. 3, 2020, is canceled due to public-health concerns, ongoing restrictions and uncertainties related to the global coronavirus-COVID-19 pandemic.
