Ride 2 Recovery Texas Challenge 2015
April 25, 2015

Clay Hunt Honor Ride through NAS Fort Worth and events in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Members of American Legion Post and Auxiliary Unit 626, together with employees of the Base Exchange, welcomed the Ride 2 Recovery cyclists for their quick ride onboard NAS Fort Worth JRB early this morning. Ride 2 Recovery is a non-profit organization aimed at assisting injured military members and veterans in their recover through cycling. They held an Honor ride cycling event with 200 'healing heroes' cycling from Houston and were joined by 600 civilian cyclists in Fort Worth. The Honor Ride is held in memory of Clay Hunt, who was a R2R cyclist that lost his battle with PTSD, spurring recent legislation known as the Clay Hunt Suicide Prevention Bill. This year's route covered many landmarks in the area, beginning in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards and making its way through NAS Fort Worth JRB, to include a short trip down the flight line.
